Travel deeper.
5 days, 4 nights of ocean adventures, breath & body work, freediving, delicious food and meeting an extraordinary ocean community.
Cape Town is famous for being one of the most spectacular cities in the world, voted in the TOP 10 year after year. It’s no surprise, the city is enveloped by great natural beauty; from the impressive Table Mountain Range, the beautiful Cape Winelands, the majestic Cape Point to the endless beaches, great surf and incredible culinary scene. But very few people come to this Peninsula to explore the spectacular world beneath the waves… our “blue backyard”.
THE GREAT AFRICAN SEA FOREST
On the low tide you see the kelp fronds bobbing above the surface, like troops of swimmers or colonies of seals. Tourists will say, what’s that? And a guide may reply, that’s just kelp… or just seaweed, and move on to the next wine tasting. But with just one breath… and the right guides, the most spectacular underwater landscape unfolds…

THE BEST OF THE CAPE OCEANS
Here one can experience two very diverse ocean currents – the warm Agulhas coming from the east and the cold Benguela coming from the south – resulting in an abundant and very unique marine ecosystem and home to some of our favourite landscapes and creatures.
Daily Yoga and Breathwork
Breathing the clean ocean air, we will expand our lung volume, learn the art of breathing for freediving, loosening our minds and bodies. Dipping into the learnings behind cold water immersion, heart rate control and deep relaxation, each day will both start and end with breath work.

Small Groups, New Friends
Every OCEAN TRAVEL trip accepts a maximum of 8 travellers. Likeminded adventurous travellers you will get to know during shared mealtimes, activities and downtime.
Inspiring Dinner Conversations
Every day you will get to know some of the remarkable people who call Cape Town home. Local ocean personalities will join for dives or dinners, at the villa or on the beach, bringing their rich experience of the cultural and ecological Cape landscape.
From Beginner to Expert
All our trips are open to absolute beginners while still offering the opportunity for more experienced freedivers to challenge themselves. Our groups are limited to 8 travellers, so if you’re ‘just a snorkeller’ and want to explore Cape Town, join us! All levels welcome!

We will have THREE UNIQUE OCEAN ADVENTURES during your stay with us, interspersed with more personal journey adventures along the way. First up, an ocean safari along the False Bay coastline, down to Cape Point. Freediving in the great kelp forests, observing African Penguins from the boat, viewing Cape Point from the water. Exploring the site of My Octopus Teacher fame, searching for various small shy shark species, octopus and more.
The second is an exploration of the great diversity the Atlantic has to offer. Mola Mola ‘sunfish’, whales and dolphins are regulars along this stretch of coastline. Viewing Robben Island from the sea is a unique and rare experience and we will share the significance of the island from a historical and ecological point of view. Working on our freediving skills we will do rope depth training in the iconic Maori Bay, where we get to see various ship wrecks underwater and learn why this area is called the Cape of Storms. Here we have the chance to see the elusive Marine Big 5, or at least 4 of them!
The third adventure will be is a coastal swim-hike on the beautiful Cape Point Peninsula where we make our way to a secret cove where we will eat lunch on the beach, forage for molluscs and seaweeds. Exploring the rock pools and kelp fields, you will learn about sustainable foraging principles, living off the sea and how to prepare wild ocean food. Our foraged bounty will be beautifully transformed into a deeply authentic fine dining experience.
